Virtual Tour - Barn

The Barn at American Village

The 188-acre American Village campus is constructed on property that was once a cattle farm owned by T.M. Burgin. The barn is the only original structure on campus.

Refurbished with support of ALFA (Alabama Farmers Federation), the barn now serves as both an educational space and an event space.

In our Patriots school program, students reenact Paul Revere’s Ride here, taking parts as redcoat soldiers, patriots, and Paul Revere himself. Students also learn colonial spy techniques here, creating and carrying secret messages past redcoat soldiers to the patriots fighting for America’s freedom from Great Britain.

At Christmastime, visitors experience moving vignettes about how Christmas was celebrated in the colonies, and what historic events transpired at Christmastime.

And if you are looking for a unique and charming venue for your next party, reception, or special celebration, the barn at American Village is the perfect backdrop for unforgettable moments!
