A select group of rising juniors and seniors from around Alabama will learn more about leadership, civics, and U.S. history during the Trojan Patriot Academy, presented by Troy University and the American Village. This unique experience will allow students to connect with other young leaders from around the state and grow as citizens ready to make a positive impact.
Leadership development is led by the Leadership Institute at Troy University following a model of leaders who serve. Students will meet with state leaders and engage in the immersive foundational experience provided by American Village. Scholarships to Troy University may be available to select students.
About the Academy
Students will spend five nights at the Academy. Beginning with three nights on the Troy Campus, a tour of Montgomery on Wednesday, and two nights at American Village in Montevallo, Ala. June 8 – 13, 2025. Students will learn leadership styles and team building within a framework built by the Founding Fathers through the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and other foundational documents.
Parent Opportunities
Students and their parents are hosted at an opening ceremony at Troy University and a closing ceremony at American Village in Montevallo.
Selection Criteria
Two students from each high school are nominated by their superintendents or principals. Students are selected for the Academy based on a variety of factors, including evidence of leadership in their schools and communities.
Application and Registration
Applications for the 2025 Trojan Patriot Academy are due no later than Friday, February 14, 2025. Those accepted into the academy will receive an acceptance email no later than Monday, March 3, 2025. Registration must be completed by Friday, March 14, 2025. Apply here.
Cost of Attendance
There is no cost associated with the Trojan Patriot Academy for those who are accepted and attend.
