The policy of the American Village Citizenship Trust is to extend every consideration to individuals and companies wishing to film, record, or photograph the American Village campus, its facilities and grounds, consistent with our desire to accurately interpret the American Village and its mission. All photography and filming is subject to approval by the American Village Citizenship Trust.
To request approval, the individual or company should contact the American Village Citizenship Trust and submit the following written information in a timely manner to allow review:
- A description of the project including where it will be aired/published.
- The sponsor and/or producer of the project.
- The treatment concept and/or script for the project.
- The date of the desired on-site visit to the American Village.
- A description of the extent of the proposed photography, taping or filming, including anticipated equipment.
- The names of individuals not affiliated with the American Village who will be filmed on-site.
Non-Permitted Use
As a general policy, the American Village Citizenship Trust does not permit its name or any images of the American Village, its facilities or grounds to be used for commercial or partisan political purposes or to promote a product or service.
Staff Interviews
The American Village Citizenship Trust can provide professional spokespeople from its staff for interview purposes. Contact the Marketing and Communications Director to schedule interviews with any staff members.
Location Fee
The American Village Citizenship Trust reserves the right to assess location fees and reimbursable costs based on the nature of your proposed project.
Visitor-Related Restrictions
It is the American Village Citizenship Trust’s intent that any filming or recording not disturb the visiting public’s or school students’ experience while at the American Village. For this reason, we reserve the right to deny photography, filming or recording during times when programming is underway.
Equipment
Photographers and technicians are to take full responsibility for all of their equipment.
Copies
The American Village Citizenship Trust requests two copies of the completed project for its archives.
Legal Restrictions
The organization or individual conducting the filming, recording or photography must agree, in writing, to hold the American Village Citizenship Trust harmless against any claims or expenses that result from their work at the American Village. In addition, they must agree to assume financial responsibility for any damage to property caused by them or their agents.
All photography and filming is subject to approval by the American Village Citizenship Trust.
Private Event Photography
There is no facility charge for photography if your private event takes place at the American Village. If you would like to use our grounds or facilities as a backdrop for your photo shoot, and your event is not booked with us, a fee of $150 per hour will be charged. Pre-reservation is required for access, and we require a staff member to accompany you. Inquiries and photo shoot bookings should be made by calling (205) 665-3535 extension 1045.
